Mixer with MIDI

Death Ro 10:28 PM - 2 June, 2009
I'm looking at buying a new mixer to work with VSL 1.1.

Having been looking at the Behringer DDM4000 as it seems to have good reviews and is cheap, however, have read that you cant use the crossfader for MIDI, ie video, and audio at the same time.

Can the Pioneer DJM 700 or 800 control MIDI and audio simultaneously or is this a problem common to all MIDI mixers? If so, then is it worth just saving the money and adding an M-Audio X-Session Pro or a Novation Nocturn to my current set up?

Cheers

yes the djm800 can do midi. i'm pretty sure the 700 can as well. you just need a 5 pin to usb cable.. something like the m-audio uno

look into the Korg Zero 4. great 4 channel mixer and is fully midi asignable. stay away from the berhinger. THEY SUCK! i got one well two the first was defective. i used it one night out and it sucked. buttons stuck on it and it just didn't perform like a professional should have. it has no weight to is whihc is a good indication of its make up. the Korg is about $800 us give or take.

I use the pioneer 800 with VSL you can use midisport uno to assign triggers on your mixer it cost around$40 dollars and works great with video mixing
