We will be meeting w/ the guys at Machete and Universal Music Latin Ent. in Miami soon... It's only a matter of time before we get Latin music. Once we convince them to test it out, it's up to all the DJs on here that play latin music to show those labels that there is a market among SSL users for it so that they will continue to use the service.

Wow, every latin dj i know uses Serato in Philly. I'm shocked that those reps haven't heard of Serato.
Here's hoping that they see this as a great tool to reaching the masses with their artist's music.

I am new to serato and whitelabel it is dissappointing that there is no latin tracks. We need the latin companies to jump aboard to get there music out there. Every weekend there is a bar, club, wedding, quincenera, business function, etc and that is a missed oppurtunity for the record companies. I am also a latin DJ In san antonio, Texas and I get asked all the time what is the name of that song. I play salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, cumbia's, spanish rock, and sometimes tejano. I just bought the ns7 and trying to get use to it, the only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't have any effects. Latinos Stand Up !

In case of latin music/salsa the DJ has a very important position because usually the dancers are dancing to a "special" song (they like) especially here in Europe. The DJ should find out the best working, freshest and most inviting tunes of that genre.
So if we would have another source to get an overview of new sounds ist would be a lot easier to motivate dancers to buy that stuff. Here in Germany I don´t know any radiostation which plays Salsa; even online radiochannels don´t play the freshest releases.
In my opinion the labels have to support Djs to enlarge the market for latinamerican/caribbean sound. This is basically the cheapes way of PR.
Let´s rock that TIMBA music
Cheers

Getting latin music on whitelabel is like pulling teeth, painfully slow.

What about some music of "Lujuria Music" situated in Barcelona, who are a major label of Latin/Salsa/Timba-Music. This source would be very interesting.

I know LMP - but many of the songs are ripped in quite bad quality. I only use their music and information to know what´s going on on the market. I prefer buying original CDs.

With our current Latin genres in Miami,FL Salsa , Merengue , Bachata , and Reggeaton are very dominant here. I hope Serato can encourage the reps to release some tracks and see if the demand is present. I currently play 2 nights a week open format and 40% of my set includes all of the genres above.
Que la fiesta siga con Serato!
