Still wondering if there is some way how to join the beta testing - recently I had quite significant issues with the newer versions and getting a chance to see how the 1.8 will behave on my config will be very interesting...

I would like to know how to get involved with the beta test group as well, since I get to pick up my S9 today. I have been informed from a few other new owners that I will need the 1.8 software to get it to work.

Kinda bummed.

no doubt they'll give you the beta so you can use your s9 once they open for business in 8-9 hours
