BPM with Tap Tempo only on Rane 62?

I love my Rane 62, but I'm running into a BIG problem. I'm a old school DJ who wants to use Tap Tempo within' SL without it automatically switching to the BPM associated with the file when I press the Flex FX button. Is this possible?

I think if you push down on the FX joystick (like a button) it locks the BPM to what its currently set at
