they are sold out on TTlab.... i would think they are licensed??? does anyone know if the jeremy fish ones were serato licensed??? ive had those since TTlab released them years back but never understood if they were still bootlegs or not?

All the custom ones are bootlegs. It's been dscussed numerous times with the mods.

yep, the Dim Mak and Jeremy Fish ones are/where bootlegs. The A-Trak aren't bootlegs, they where a promotional Vinyl made by us. :)

All Serato Vinyls from this year on have a gold "official" sticker on them, for their authenticity, seen here www.serato.com. This means they have been tested by our quality assurance team, so they work properly.

just got mine from blue collar in the mail- they are a bit thick compared to regular cvs. i probably wont keep them

all picture disks are heavy and thick like that.... the hipsters don't care about scratching, they want to hear those SYNTHS!!!! LOL

They would cost an absolute tonne of dough.

I put one of those DMs on for exactly twelve minutes. When it stopped the track instead of switching into internal mode, I promptly replaced it with an authentic Rane/Serato control vinyl, and proceeded to crush the next three hours.

I think I will pass on the bootlegs.

i also vouch for the running past the 10minute mark??? i'm always on the ball when mixing, scratching, etc... i use the drop to cues for relative mode though, so i'm always using the needle instead of keystrokes to cue up my tracks. ;)

I was setting up. Normally not a problem. It was just a sign to me that OGs are worth supporting. Dim Mak is certainly one of the labels that could have done something official with Serato. Hopefully they didn't blow their chance.

It's pretty easy to past 10 minute accidently, if you quickly drop a track on and the needle is already a few minutes in.

The biggest issue I had is using another guys sicwax vinyls one night to finish the end of a night...they have a dead spot in the middle? Halfway through a song it just went dead for 30 seconds. I had no clue what was gonig on until it restarted and I remembered he'd warned me of that.
I'd rather use legit serato codes than have to be consciously checking my records that I'm not gonna hit an area that has problem.

Agreed. It's cool if they've got a collection of CV's going or just really like the design, but I think it's a bit daft if anyone uses them for gigs if you have to sacrifice usability to have cool looking records.

Dim Mak is Super Huge in Los Angeles, which is why turntable lab prolly got them.

Graphic arts are all subjective Nik. Take a look at Michael Shantz's work. I'm a huge fan of his drawings but a lot of people don't like it.

i will definitely say first hand though, that the dim maks are the only vinyl that i would turn around and sell... i hate picture disks (weight, etc.) and i'm not a hipster... LOL

I found it funny actualy, another DJ I know spent a while trying to find super slippery mats for scratching but then couldn't resist buying some picture discs. They weigh that much it's completely defeated the purpose of his slipmats.
