Itch Computer/System Freeze?

Does anyone have a problem with the system freezing while you are doing a set. I will be mixing and all of a sudden the song will continue to the end but none of the buttons on the controller or anything you click on the software works.
I was doing a gig Friday and everything froze 4 TIMES! I wanted to know if it is the software or my computer? I am running a Alienware MX17 which is about 3 1/2 years old. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to buy a new computer if it's the software...

Bro read all old post man. Search this has been brought up at least 25 times. I'm currently going through the same issues myself and I just learned to DJ well I'm learning and its fuxking up my learning time. 😠

Also if your going to start a thread like this its very helpful for you to put your setup and computers specs. This way you can get an accurate answer and no problemo
