Hi Jah Love,
That'd certainly be a nice addition.
As DJ Arries has suggested, as a workaround, you can enforce 'inverted' colours in most recent versions of OS X and Windows. While not the most elegant solution, it does help.
How to adjust colour inversion via Magnifier in Windows 8;
windows.microsoft.com
How to adjust colour inversion via Accessibility in Mac OS X;
support.apple.com
To best have your feature suggestion heard however, I'd suggest posting a +1 in a thread somebody else has already started;
serato.com

ITCH has the two settings for PC. Loved that feature. Seems it would be simple to implement to Serato DJ.

Yes, definitely bring it back. I was playing this outside last Saturday and it was very hard to find tracks. I has to keep taking my shades off!! ;) I do have itch installed too, but it doesn't support FLAC so can't play half my stuff. Please bring it back. It is very much needed. Especially for this summer PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

And you'd have to buy yourself a truck just to carry it, plus hire some roadies. Time to up your price. Lol

Big positives WANT for day/night mode. Come on Serato please. Summer is coming. And there is no better way to show off your software than in the sun playing cool vibes x

originally yes, but been here in US, New Jersey most of my life
I'm from the Mid-West in Portugal near coast, near Coimbra
Portugal is awesome, but way to expensive to visit, vacation, etc.
they must pay well for you to goto Portugal from UK, :-) that's awesome!!!

Yes, I still have ITCH but of course Serato DJ is better. But it's only a change of look! it should be easy. Why don't they do it? come on, lot of people is waiting for it ...

Serato, I saw your response where it was indicated that day/night mode was in the list of to do, We are in july 2015 and been asking since 2011 allready are being contracted for pool parties and still waiting, guess we will have to look for shade again or a piece of cardboard to get it done....DISAPOINTED....LM

They keep saying they are going to do it but nothing has happened for years. So disappointing.

I have the feeling they don't bother with it. It must be something very easy to add so they must have some reason for not providing this. It would be nice if they could explain it properly.

The sad think about it i post this discussion over a year ago when serato was at 1.7.4 now serato is at 1.9 and still no night and day mode button i have come to terms that serato is not interested in adding it to the software like scratch live

+1 So many people are asking for the day / night mode.... what is the issue serato ? If you cant do it just let us know instead of not answering. This is a HUGE inconvenience when djing outside which alot of us are doing. If we just have to go back to itch let us know. Thank you

Unbelievable how ignorant they are. Someone from Serato just has to respond to put an end to this question, which has now become a bit of a piss-take tbh

Crazy that they are choosing to ignore this question. Give us an answer whatever it might be. It's rude to do this!

Hey guys,
We totally hear you and understand your frustration, but I'm afraid I have to be the bearer of no news as we don't have an update on this feature at the moment.
Currently our main focus is on stability and optimising Serato DJ, thus improving performance for everyone.
For now, please see Luke's suggestions earlier for a workaround. We'll keep you posted when this feature is on the way!
Cheers,
Michael.

Thank you at long last for at least acknowledging this! You're only 4 point releases away from SDJ 2.0. Please surprise us!

Thanks for acknowledging the feature request. It's quite obvious that its a big WANT by your users. Please keep us in the loop and I have my fingers crossed for it happening before summer so I can use it properly outside.

The Stability is fine.... Never had a problem with Stability. Always have a problem with Night / Day Features. This is a BIG issue with users and usually big issues are taken care of.
Thank you for you long awaited reply though.
