Some controller may be mapped differently than what we would expect or we don't use some buttons/features and would like to assign them to something else without buying a 2nd controller beside the main one.
In my case (DDJ SR) I never use the 4th fx button and its encoder and I would like to assign them for :
:
loop selection
on-off
trigg-retrigg with shift
and with the second layer (2&4) :
- create beatgrid
- delete beatgrid + shift
- move grid
- compress/expand grid + shift

+3000 for the option to remap oem controllers! Everyone has a different approach to use the hardware...

@dj_spark you can map all pioneer controller but there is a way to get it in midi mode. I saw it on YouTube while looking to do the same thing with my NS6

The old fashion way like we did in ScratchLive to add so many controlers ? Didn't though it was still working.
Thanks, I'll check this. ;-)

The midi mode is for NON natively supported software. The Pioneer controllers are NOT custom mappable while using Serato DJ no matter what hence the creation of this thread. NO native controllers are custom mappable.
+1 BTW............

I'd love to get the new DDJ SX2 BUT I love the [+] and [-] buttons on my NS6 way too much and I know I can "push" the Jog Wheel for similar effect but those darn little buttons are so useful in a panic/pinch!

I have to join this. Everywhere I see that you can't remap the main controller but never find one explanation why. This limitation is purposedly placed just so we have to buy another secondary controller.
And I find it funny that there's not one official answer in this topic from Serato. Why, is it unconfortable?
