Uberstand Laptop stand

lesterdiamond 4:11 PM - 2 May, 2006
I just bought one of these. With external hard drive and serato box storage it looks like a nice stand and quick shipping too. Why hasn't serato included these ideas in their stand?

lesterdiamond 4:33 PM - 2 May, 2006

DARK 6:21 PM - 2 May, 2006
dose it clip onto anything or is it free standing???
lesterdiamond 6:40 PM - 2 May, 2006
did you look at the pictures on the site?
DjWoody 6:43 PM - 2 May, 2006
In theory, that stand looks nice. In reality, you're gonna have all sorts of cables coming out of the scratch amp. That makes it unsexy!
Sim 6:45 PM - 2 May, 2006
thats not to bad a stand, but I still like that one that was posted a few weeks/months ago, tho that one was to pricey ($300 I believe)
DARK 6:48 PM - 2 May, 2006
ye i looked at the site and although its got nice holes in it that look like they can be used for attaching to a rack or whatever in the pic it looks like its just freestanding so i thought id ask someone who is getting/has got it
DJ Mo Rada 7:46 PM - 2 May, 2006
$130 is alot for a silly stand.
djzoo 9:19 PM - 2 May, 2006
make your own. its cheaper. just zip tie(ty-wrap)cables to make it less unsexy. i did. i got a piece of threaded pipe, two bases for the threads, and screwed a piece of wood(covered with speaker carpet) to it. looks pretty good.

There's a whole lotta' aluminum in that stand...
DJ Nevoc 1:06 AM - 3 May, 2006
Hey Everyone, Dont waste your money on this stand unless you have a shit ton of cash to blow, in which case please pick one or two up for me and my boys in AL!! This is my desgin for a stand and it costs about $15 and about 15min of time should you have a Drill.

The ony cons I have found with this stand.

1. I used the second hole up from the bottom, so my clearance on the mixer is about 4-5 inches. This isnt a huge problem, in fact I plan on rebending those bottom legs In and L by upside down L if so that the laptop sits at the same height but is pushed back more. If I end up doing it I'll post the MOD. I hope this page helps you out.

By the way everything was bought at Lowes, the L brackets come set @ 90 degrees, but I bent them to fit my needs, addtionally I bought some small L brackets to make the lip. and used Foam at the top to better situate my laptop into the lip. Again you may not need the foam.

Peace

Did you go into my studio and steal my equipment? Hehehe, I have the same coffin, same CDJs, I have a shelf with my vinyls just like yours but it was custom made, and I made a stand with a similar concept, except I put a piece of wood! Hahahaha

Its totally stable I think the most unstable part of the rig is the stand the coffin is sitting on. I'll get you a video tonight

djzoo 7:06 PM - 11 May, 2006
hell yeah.
lesterdiamond 11:40 PM - 20 May, 2006
it is a freestanding stand. It looks nice and matches my laptop/headphones
DJ BIS 6:43 AM - 19 September, 2006
I like it but the zip ties at the bottom kinda turn me off. There should be some kind of "snap" mechanism at the bottom joint so that those zips don't have to be used. Same witht he velcro. I am not putting velcro at the bottom of my machine...

:(

DJ BIS 6:47 AM - 19 September, 2006
I was thinking that a thin pin that you can slide at that bottom joint would probably do the job... just an idea.
