Im having problems with this as well,in ssl the software fx post fader would work fine,now on sdj i cant use them cuz it cuts the music.

Im running sdj 1.6.3,and my firmware is the latest one 2.21

I cant use the usb insert fx post fader from my sixty two just like monkeyfunk.

On mines i turn on the usb insert from my 62 and on sdj on the fx tab i load the echo and turn it up and as soon as i press the flex fx(blue button) it cuts my track playing.

Do you have the EXT insert turned on?
If so turn if off.
Do you have the FX ON button on the mixer turned on?
If not, turn it on.

Only have on the usb insert for post fader fx.

Hey Zach, - yes no luck I'm afraid.. It's been ever since I upgraded the Firmware for SDJ when it was released.. Muted since :((

Oh - sorry, forgot - you can hear the FX in the headphone cue working okay on the audio..

Any fix on this zach? Sucks i cant use the software fx postfader.

I watched that video again.
What effect do you have loaded on the right effect slot?
I notice the wet/dry knob is not even half way turned up.
Try turning it all the way up and using a regular echo.
Also make sure the feedback of the echo is turned up to like 3/4th.

Other than that it looks like you're doing everything right.

Zach no fix i cant use any of the fx post fader i tried all of them and as soon as i turn on the blue flex fx button it just mutes my music.

Is this another bug?

If any of you put the virtual decks in INT mode and unplug your turntables/CD decks entirely do you still suffer from this issue?

yes - it's actually how i've been paling recent let through INT and an X1 - although the other week I was back on my 1210s and yeah same issue.

Does this work with serato DJ? That video is old.

Hmmm, all I did for the 68 at the club I spin at is make sure ext fx is off and turn enable insert on.

Then I made sure that I had the flex fx volume turned all the way up.

Then when I want to use dj-fx from serato dj I just turn on flex fx on the the channel I want and control the dj-fx from the sp1 controller.

You can also use both the onboard and dj-fx via insert at the same time.

This exact same thing is going on with me

OK guys I think I've found the cure: hold Down the shift button and push the insert button and change the USB INSERT PORT on the 62 screen

I was able to re-create this in one manner with "Echo Out" using the Rane 62 SSL 2.5.0. using the steps below showing "Works" and "Does Not Work"

"Does Not Work"
1. Select "Insert"
2. If "Echo Out" is already (or you set) "On" in the DJ-FX Panel and then you select "FlexFX", you will no longer hear music.

"Works"
1. Select "Insert"
2. Ensure "Echo Out" is "Off"
3. Select "FlexFX"
4. Select "On" for "Echo Out"

Why does it cut out for Option 1?

DJHexum,

This is because echo out is a pre fader effect in SSL. It fades the audio out before the audio is fed to the line faders and therefore can't be heard.

You will be able to listen in the headphones though, thats it.

It could be me being an idiot, but right now I look at the wonderful FX packs that Serato DJ offers, and shrug, as I can't - and haven't ever -accessed any of them.

Anyone figure this out? Got my mixer a few weeks ago and just started using the USB insert with my 62 and Serato DJ. Track mutes. How do you resolve this issue?

I posted above back in 2014 on why the track mutes and Matt P from Serato explained why. It all depends on how you trigger and Pre/Post. This was with SSL but I assume the same applies with SDJ.
