Needle Drop Features

for REL (or Super Mode)
I would like to propose a feature called "Drop to Cue". The Song File could jump to the next cue when the needle is lifted and dropped. This would be a way of cycling through cue points with out touching the computer.
Also, I would like to propose another feature called "12 O'clock Drop". What this does is, each time the needle is dropped the GUI Sticker Label will align to 12 o'clock. What you could do is find a location in the song, lift the needle and drop, and the sticker will jump to 12.
And last, if the needle gets dropped back to before 0:00.0 on the Control Record the song should jump back to zero.

how about option for drop needle to before 0:00.0 and the next cut is auto loaded?

I thought about using the minute markers as choosing to which cue point you want to jump:
Lift the needle,
*drop it between 0:00 and 1:00 -> jump to 1st cue point
*drop it between 1:00 and 2:00 -> jump to 2nd cue point
*drop it between 2:00 and 3:00 -> jump to 3rd cue point
*drop it between 3:00 and 4:00 -> jump to 4th cue point
*drop it between 4:00 and 5:00 -> jump to 5th cue point
*drop it before 0:00 -> jump to the beginning of the song
Whatcha think?
Lift the needle,
*drop it between 0:00 and 1:00 -> jump to 1st cue point
*drop it between 1:00 and 2:00 -> jump to 2nd cue point

ah, well in that case the wave form would have to move at different rates compared to the rotation of the vinyl. the virtual sticker would no longer read true unless it did in fact change its rate of rotation like we talked about. "speed"
I think it would be very unnatural and awkward to use this way.
But it did bring me back to a concept that I had some months back during the "locked sticker debates" but didnt post. The option for changing by doubling, or halving, quartering, eight... that rate at which the virtual sticker would spin in relation to everything else. for example, if the rate where halved the virtual sticker would would connect with the real vinyl sticker only every two rotations. the vinyl would have made one rotation at 6o'clock, two at 12o'clock and so on.
I didnt see any use for it. But now I realize that you could do that with the rate of the song file in relation to the vinyl as well. for example you could cause a three minute song to act like it were six minutes on the vinyl. Im still not sure why anyone would have any use for it, but...

Was that an answer to my post? Cause I cant see at all why you would need to adjust rotation speed of the virt. circles.

ah I see, drop would not be the same as passing that point on the vinyl. I get it.
that could work!
But, I would be concerned about being able to drop that precise all the time.
DROP ACTION baby!

Drop Reverse
hold the record - drop - move the record counter clock-
...and the function is reversed.
like the previous track is selected, or the previous cue point is selected

you know, Im a staunch ABS mode user, but I think I could migrate to REL if we could get some!

I feel ya, but I think the flip cue point forward and backward is error prone, esp latter. Couldnt we agree on the different minute areas to jump to the cues? ;)

Pff.. I thought about voting you for president - but now I am not sure anymore.

duh, you wouldnt have to drop precise, just near. actually it could just jump to the nearest

Well you just gotta hit one of the 10 minute regions on the a side of the vinyl. That shouldnt be hard.

Segment. Dropping into that segment will jump to the cue point.
Shouldnt be hard... unless you are really drunk, but then you should stay away from complicated vinyl manipulations anyway :)

check, how about...
Drop Forward does whatever like normal... But Drop Reverse kicks you into scroll(cues or cuts). Drop again and you are out of scroll, back to normal.
that would make it skip safe, except sometimes when scratching

well make it need a full quarter turn reverse before it will kick in

I would like to propose a feature called "Drop to Cue". The Song File could jump to the next cue when the needle is lifted and dropped. This would be a way of cycling through cue points with out touching the computer.
Also, I would like to propose another feature called "12 O'clock Drop". What this does is, each time the needle is dropped the GUI Sticker Label will align to 12 o'clock. What you could do is find a location in the song, lift the needle and drop, and the sticker will jump to 12.
And last, if the needle gets dropped back to before 0:00.0 on the Control Record the song should jump back to zero.

i would not mind seeing this at all :)
