Open Sound Control (OSC) protocol implementation for Lemur control surface

Any chance we could get Open Sound Control communication protocol installed w/ SSL so we could have a Lemur www.jazzmutant.com to manipulate custom control sets?

OK - I admit this one is a reach - but why not?

very cool. in the FAQ section i found this...

Quote:
Is it possible to control a midi software or hardware with LEMUR ?

Nowadays, the is no way to control directly your prefered midi device or application with LEMUR. Nevertheless, here is a trick to manage it. You can use a software such as Max/MSP to convert and route OSC data to your MIDI application.

perhaps it will be compatible with midi providing you use the right conversion program. hmmmmm...

I don't know too much about Max/MSP (at least in terms of actually doing anything constructive with it), but I think if we break down that statement from the FAQ, we could figure out how to do it.:

• Using Max/MSP, convert and route OSC data generated by Lemur to MIDI application

- connection out of the Lemur is Ethernet, so route an Ethernet cable from the Lemur to the laptop

- Possibly use MIDI Pipe or some other MIDI streaming application to interface the incoming data with SSL?

- Possibly in the future, SSL could have coded "hooks" in the application to receive OSC data directly from a Lemur? (wishful thinking?)
