OK I think I may have figured out why I am crashing and burning on my laptop and don't my studio PC
64 bit Vs 32 bit operating system....SOMONE please tell me this is WHY I am having all these problems all of a sudden with my Pioneer SZ and 1.6.1 I really don't think it can be more then that.
studio PC 32 bit Win 7
laptop 64 bit win 7 and that's where the problem is
What do I need to do to get this from being so damn unreliable.

so,
i take it you are using the controller on either machine?
and as either machine is running 32 or 64 bit?
just want to clarify...

It should run on 64 bit without a problem
I can only assume that it's because you are running it in 32 bit also.
Can you not upgrade your system to 64 bit?

NOPE the 32 bit is a whole other computer not the same computer so that's not why the 64 bit machine is screwing up. There's more to it that that

Yeah.
I see your point. But serato does run on 64 bit normally, right?
Surely they have made it run on either 32 or 64?

i reformatted my backup laptop and tried it on that for a while.
it still occasionally freezes not long after starting serato, but shutting down serato and restarting solves the problem.
i think you couldnt go wrong by using a clean installed laptop with nothing but serato and / or itunes on it.
maybe not even use the internet on it- less to go wrong.
its hard knowing what is going on in the background of a computer, so the less you have on there, the better i'd say
