My 2cents is dont play a long ass booty set, keep it to like 15mins, otherwise people get tired of it, plus there are really only so many songs people actually know and remember, I usually play my booty set at the peak of the night and quick mix the hell out of it, has not let me down yet, but I have seen a couple dudes with a long ass booty set and the crowd does seem to get tired and start to thin out.

Used to love that track!

Luke (2 Live Crew) - Scarred, Hootchie Mama and Doo Doo Brown were the biggest hits for my Booty Bass set back in the day. Could only play two or three cuts before the crowd got tired though so I mixed them quick then got back to some slower BPM stuff. Haven't played or heard any of them in a long time now, not even sure a younger crowd would appreciate this genre anymore...

Awesome! I moved away from Miami before I started DJ'ing, but I learned so much from listening to DJ Zog on the 5 oclock traffic jam when I was first starting. Still tune in to the Dj zog/dj def club streams on Fridays every now and then.

What's the name of the song that goes like this over and over?

Guy: Who you love?
Girls: Crazy Legs!

Throughout the song, the guy and girls change the tone in which they ask and respond.... deeper voice, faster pace, etc. I've searched the obvious, but the only references to Crazy Legs I get are Loose My Money and Happy and You Know It.

Anyway.... seems like I am the only one left staying true to the Atlanta Booty Bass, Miami Bass, Electro Bass and Freestyle sound, playing TODAY'S hottest bass & freestyle sounds while everyone else has moved on and followed trends. Yes, I do play other things, but I still keep up with today's bass & freestyle sounds, as you can hear HERE:
www.mixcrate.com

Mainly all new music and mixes, featuring TODAY'S MODERN bass & freestyle (and a little bit more)

Judging by some of the posts in this thread, it seems like a lot of teenagers or twenty year olds these days no longer know what booty bass or miami bass is. Sucks that it has fallen off so much that people think today's slow tempo music is "booty bass" just because it talks about booty and has lots of bass and often has booty shaking twerk dances associated with it.

Honestly, I wouldn't consider "Muevelo" by Brissa to be booty or miami bass, but....

As far as some of my favorite current bass songs, here you go:

EDUBB - Rain Boots
Dj Kizzy Rock - Nasty Girls
Stuey Rock ft Yung Joc - Baby baby
Johnny Moog - Dope Love (Chrissy Murderbot Remix)
Ying Yang Twins - Big Butts
Kelis - Bounce (Kdm Dezabeatz Mixshow Mash FE2)
Death Jam - Look out
Deekline, Ed Solo, Dustin Hulton, & Sporty-O - I Like Girls
Far East Movement - I party
Syren - visible
Jennifer Jimenez - We don't even talk (NSR Remix)
Raheem The-Dream - Lights Camera Action (from his new 2014 album)
Wale ft Rihanna - Bad (Tony Tone Remix)
Ciara - Got me good
43 Kings - Lets party
Dj Richie Rich ft Dj Kermit & Mixtress - Get it started

...And I'll stop there.

Oh, and lastly, I'm sure you've also found this list copied and pasted on random sites a few times around the net over the past couple of years:

Dude, you had to post that list - now I need to go thru the library and see what I am missing and see what is in low 128 bit rate...

Tempted but not tonight - i'll be up all night - lol.

Funny thing is I just ran across a regional classic in a post on Facebook that was considered Bass/Booty here in Detroit. I never knew there was a video for it, I want the video now... :(

Just keep in mind that it's impossible to remember and post every bass song that exists. There are quite a few songs from around 2000 that are now coming to mind that are not in any of the lists above...

Quad City Dj's - Baby, be mine
Pressha - Splackavellie (B-Rock Mix) (and other remixes)
Tightwork - Can I holla
...etc

I guess there is also Usher & Robin Thicke "secret garden" that probably received some attention in some regions in 2010, and Ciara's "heavy rotation" probably also received a few spins in some markets.

Ciara feat. Future and B.O.B had a bass hit that some urban and rhythmic stations have been playing over the past year or two (2012-2014), called "body party remix." That version is different from the Mike D Bass Remix, but both are bass remixes.

Here is one of the latest Watchwww.youtube.com videos I posted with more modern bass sounds. One song in there is UK Garage/2 step (or what people in London consider "U.K. Bass Music")

I'm sure if bass were still popular today, songs like "boomerang" by Dj Felli Fel ft Akon, Pitbull and Jermaine Dupri would be part of the new sound of bass, considering the amount of electronic sounds influencing hip hop, pop, and r&b today. I'm sure half of today's bass music would easily cross over into electro bass and even freestyle bass.

I also noticed that no one mentioned "Pamp & Da Knox - Shake (bass mix)" which was played here in Arizona back in 1997-1998.

great, nice double post :/ Sorry.
DjKDM7000 5:03 AM - 28 June, 2014
Majik 107.5 Atlanta's R&B Station just did an extended half hour uptempo set that was mostly a booty bass mix while I was streaming as they mixed live from the club. For some reason they played "nasty dancer" by Kilo twice in the same set, but it was quick mixed both times, along with the other bass hits. They played "2 much booty in da pants" by Soundmaster T, some Ghost Town Dj's and Lathun, Bankhead Bounce, almost played "Thyow" by Zae, "tootise roll," Missy Elliot ft Ciara "Lose Control," and all sorts of stuff. It was an impressive amount because I kept thinking they would stop and slow the music back down.

Then, for some reason, they got into "I gotta feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, "Shots" by LMFAO ft Lil Jon, "Feels so close" by Calvin Harris, "Give me everything" by Ne-yo ft Pitbull and stuff like that. I know bass isn't anything new on that station, but electro-pop dance was a surprise on an URBAN AC station. I never expected Calvin Harris to play on an urban station in a town that used to not have any stations that played house or freestyle and anything outside the most mainstream euro dance of the 90's for almost an entire decade.

There are many great artist from a genre of music I love but there was one artist who I feel never got his just due because many only knew of him as a "Get Funky Crew member". He started out with Magic Mike and Clay D and went on to become a house hold name. Prince Rahiem wrote and performed classic Bass songs like Pull It All The Way Down, Shake Them Titties, Do It Do It, Ugly People Be Quiet/ Rock The House where he was a beat box and actually was his debut song. He also did songs like Move Your Body, Do Your Duty and Rock wit it he was the first Bass artist to actually sign a 6 figure major label deal with Island Records yall don't know about bass like I know about bass I'm a 305 RYDER FOR LYFE!!!!!!
