This may or may not go over well on this board, but whatev...plenty of non-bloghouse era indie (ROCK), eclectic space age bachelor pad music, math rock, etc.

nice, eclectic tracklisting - that Battles tune is great... first heard it on Little Big Planet :)
I'll listen to the whole thing tomorrow as it's late and I need to sleep :-\

what is math rock?Since wikipedia can probably get way more in depth than I can - en.wikipedia.org
Basically (mostly) instrumental rock with an emphasis on rapidly changing non-4/4 time signatures and complicated poly-rhythms. Bands like Don Caballero, June of 44, the aforementioned Battles, etc.

LOL I just started a thread (scratchlive.net) about Rock Dj's and how I don't see much around here and then I find your thread. Listening to the mix now, some good selection!

First time I heard that was off of a Diplo mix, dropped an M.I.A acappella over the looped intro.
Looks like a dope mix, D\Ling.

Used to drop that one all the time, since the original tune is 7+ minutes, and you can drop it right into one of the keyboard breaks to break it up (and make it a hell of a lot easier to mix out of), but I still love the original so much almost 2 years later.
I had been playing the hell out of the original Battles 12"s for a few years when they were SUPER obtuse (a lot more aggressive/noisy and the songs were 10 minutes) and a lot less crowd friendly, so obviously when Mirrored leaked, and it was border-line DANCEY I lost my shit and played the hell out of Atlas, then Diplo did that ace mash.
Feedback please, I feel like I played it safe on a lot of the transitions, but obviously I wanted to keep the sound squeaky clean and not have any vocal/key/slightly-off live drummer clashes. In the club where you can't hear that shit, I'd take a lot more chances, lol.

Is there a download link I'm missing? Wanna throw this on a CD and put it in the car so I can actually listen to the whole thing.

So Famethrowa I've listened to this mix a few times now, granted in the background while I'm doing stuff in the house so I can't be too technical on the criticism but the fact that i keep reaching for it to play as my background motivator should tell you seomthing.
I see what you mean about playing it safe, there were a couple of transitions where those words rang in my head but there were also some really great ones in there. The selection was great and the energy was the biggest factor for me, good pacing throughout and I never got bored waiting for the next mix.
Good stuff dude
