Has anyone experimented using a Leap Motion unit in their set up?

The DJ demo in their SDK is pretty poor, though in terms of using gestures and a non-touch interface, I'm interested to understand how something like a Leap Motion unit could or might be incorporated into a set up.

I read last year that DJ Techtools were considering exploring that side of performing.

I've got a unit here and currently teaching myself Openframeworks so that I can try and work something out.

It's definitely interesting stuff. There was a guy controlling Video SL with a Kinect a while back, I'm waiting to see what new Kinect stuff Microsoft reveal at the new Xbox announcement shortly.

Keep us posted as to how you get on!

Its gonna be great when this is integrated into laptops, i know asus partnered up with leap motion to have them built into their future model laptops dont know when they will be shipping.

I've been working on a Serato Leap Motion application for the last 5 months. Primarily it a iTunes controller but uses Seratos controller tone and has MIDI output for control with Serato.

I'm also the same guy that did the Kinect Video SL stuff.

If anyone is interest or wants to test the beta visit www.facebook.com for development news and example videos.

And what´s about using Leap Motion for just browsing Serato, search tracks, ...? Would i need a further app?

Probably wouldn't make sense from an experience perspective. Too much effort would be required to do that compared to what is already a simple task.

That looks awesome. Is there a way to quickly disable or lock it in case some drunk person comes in the DJ booth?
