hi there. ok i got a big issue now, last night i did a gig with my ns6, i got so many drop outs it was so embarrassing :(. now iv followed all the optimizing guidelines provided by serato before i did the gig and then i went out setup my gear and started playing then about 15mins into my set itch would freeze up and the sound would just stop and my ns6 become non-responsive and than after that it kept cutting out every 15-20mins. pleaseee help! i live in new zealand and iv been calling the serato helpline since this morning and i got no respond yet. i should also add that iv been using scratch live for a month and i managed to optimize my laptop for ssl with the latency on the far left. so when i used my ns6 and itch i started getting dropouts even with the itch latency on the far right.

Hey Shelvin,

Could you please post your computers full specs for me. serato.com

When you DJ with the NS6 do you play music off an external harddrive or do you have any other USB devices connected?

Also when was the last time you analysed all your files and deleted any corrupt ones?

Let me know how you go with this,

Cheers, Sam

Phew finally a reply, i was getting abit worried lol. Anyways i have a 64bit hp dv6 laptop 8gb ram i5 processor and i play all my music thru my internal 1tb hdd. I usually Analyse my files on a 2nd weekly basis. And on the night this happened i re-analayzed the gigs play list 3 hours before the gig. I also forgot to mention that 2 weeks back as recommended by the rane helper, i updated my bios, chipset and usb drivers to optimise for scratch live. And also on the night of the gig i was using itch 1.8 which iv grown accustomed to. Hope this makes sense and thanks for your help.

Are you based in auck?

Hey Shelvin,

Roughly how big is your library?

Also, since you are accustomed to ITCH you might want to try upgrading to the latest version? There are a number of fixes in each update and also newer versions analyse files better and may bring up more corrupt files that you were not aware of: serato.com

Try installing that, analyzing a playlist and having a mix to see how you go.

And yeah mate, Serato HQ is based in Auckland,

Did anything major show up in the trace report?
Serato, Support
Sam GG 11:02 PM - 22 May, 2013
When we read a trace report we are typically looking for modules that are giving interrupt times of over 512 usecs. These are usually the drivers or processes that are causing the problems. I didn't see anything alarming in the trace report that you gave us.

Give ITCH 2.2.2 a good go and let me know if that solves your problem

Hey bro just finshed my gig, and as you said the new itch worked perfectly but i need ur help on one more thing. You see last time when i had usb drop outs in itch i think the clipping or the constant on/offing of the sound couldv blown my speakers. ?
Serato, Support
Sam GG 11:36 PM - 26 May, 2013
Hey Shelvin,

I'm glad that the update worked for you!

I suppose it is possible that the speakers could of been blown by audible clicks and pops from the drop outs but they must have been very very loud to have caused this.

Are you having any more issues with the software?

Cheers, Sam
shelvin 11:52 PM - 26 May, 2013

If you have everything sussed out and there was no lasting damage to your setup. I'll close this thread for now, don't hesitate to reopen it though if you have any more issues,
