I was quite surprised, when those mixers came out, that there was no provision for Scratch Live functionality.
If the decision was made on Serato determining that "most Scratch Live users don't want a 19-inch rack-mount mixer", they neglected to consider INSTALLATIONS. (!!!!!)
I wouldn't buy an MP25 or MP26 for "personal" use, but for a bar/club installation where they want to prevent a lot of DJ booth mayhem with crap being disconnected, an SL-enabled MP25 or MP26 would make perfect sense. 19" rack-mount with security screws, all wiring/cables underneath and locked/secured...end of DJ-rewiring shitshows.
I'll also be really blunt and say I see flawed methodology in the way Serato apparently "researches" some decisions on functionality. Stuff like the "Live Feed" being unceremoniously removed, for example. Determining software features based on a "majority" or "lowest common denominator" approach is a recipe for stagnation, mediocrity and failure.
Even if the "numbers" weren't all that high (obviously there's fewer installations than there are "DJ's"), it's in Serato's interest that Rane offer an installation-suitable mixer with Scratch Live functionality in it.

I think an SSL enabled MP25 makes a lot of sense for Mobile DJ's like me
I am now using the Discontinued Rane MP4 stuck on 2.3.3
I would Love to "upgrade" to the MP25 to get more channel and have EQ on mic
but in a way it's a downgrade as it cannot open SSL as can the MP4
So open up the MP25 to SSL and I'm sold, I"ll even pay an ADDITIONAL $500
If not, I'll just keep using My old MP4
