I have been using Serato on PCs for years. I have my music collection directly on my C drive (not in a user account subfolder) and Serato lives in my user account/my music

I recently got a high-spec Macbook Pro because it handles video seamlessly, unlike a high-spec PC laptop I ordered from Lenovo a year + ago.

The way I used to handle rolling with a backup computer is that I named my user account the same on both machines and of course the music was just on C and then I used SyncToy to use an external USB drive to backup from my primary machine and then sync that drive to my secondary one.

Now that I have the Mac, I am trying to do something similar but am finding that using a sync app for Mac, I am unable to make this happen even though I am pointing the folders correctly.

Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to avoid having to purchase a second Mac now to be my backup, as I have a perfectly good Thinkpad that I rather like for daily use anyway.
