I was under the impressions that once i connected the bridge for serato and ableton the bridge would connect and i would permanently have the beatgrids available, is there something im doing wrong or was this just not true? Please let me know if there is anyway to obtain the beatgrids once again without purchasing live

The beat grids do nothing for you unless your running Ableton (unless you really like having the numbers).

You will need to purchase Ableton Live, you will then be able to have beatgrids on your tracks again.
