I understand there is no official support for Win8 at this time.
I have heard of others not having issues and wanted to see what they did to help it run.

Nothing was needed for me.
If it doesnt open at first, run it in compatability mode for windows 7
You can accomplish this by right clicking the SDJ icon, select properties and select the compatibility tab. Then check the box and select windows 7 and it should open up properly.

Thats the only issue ive known that people have had. One of the simplest fixes ever
Now, if youre running into latency problems, that is a whole other issue that would require some tweaking of your settings, start up, apps, and services.

Lacking Windows 8 support should be a REAL priority for Serato.

It's a big OS that serious Windows fans use right now.

It's not officially supported, but it runs perfectly normal on my 2 laptops

and we all know that serato is biased towards mac. intel gpus are supported in mac, but not in windows. the waveforms are smoother in mac than windows. and they dont support win8

Thanks for the comments everyone..

OK, so it does run.

The issue that I am having is the same as everyone else with the large databases, and the 'not enough memory' when scanning,

It was running perfectly on my old Win7 machine with my big database. I guess these new issues are coming up with 1.2?

When you say large, how much files are we talking about here?
That issue has been around since before Serato dj existed. It was in itch throughout its entire development.

The whole out of memory issue can probably be solved of the system architecture was in 64-bit and not 32-bit. Your PC would be able to dedicate more ram to SDJ.

Ok only problems I notice in win8 is that if you unplug the controller, SDJ does not revert to the stand alone player. So in other words, if you disconnect or power down the controller while SDJ is open, you need to restart SDJ to get the stand alone player. I've noticed that if you then turn the controller back without restarting SDJ you can still control SDJ but a lot of the controller's lights stay off. I have an NS6 and its probably just a driver issue that numark has not made for win8 or it could be an issue in SDJ. This issue shouldn't be a show stopper though
