I can set cues but cannot delete them. When I press the delete button, it turns red and the cue lights turn off. (I think they're supposed to turn red) when I press the cues- nothing happens. If i press the delete button again, it goes back to the cues that I've set.

Sometimes the platters won't stop spinning. The play/pause button doesn't respond. The only way the song will stop is if I press cue. (Platters still spinning) if I load another song onto the deck- the song automatically plays. I feel like I'm breaking it when I have to power down while the platters are still moving.

Problems occur inconsistently. Have had for less than a week.

During last nights session I thought I figured some things out. (Delete cues was controlling the sp-6 sampler.) fixed that by disabling the sampler.

While I was playing- the cross fader stopped working but I tinkered around with the contour knob and it started working again.

My concern is that no two sittings have been the same. Something funky always happens- either from one sitting to the next or within the same session.

I practiced a little earlier and my platters wouldn't stop spinning again. The lights on the mixer (ch1&2) froze and the cue lights stopped working. (They actions were responding but the lights weren't.

It sounds like you have TOGGLE MODE activated.
-- When this is activated pressing DELETE turns the CUE buttons into PLAY/STOP buttons for the SAMPLER SP6.

To turn off this setting follow the below steps.

1. Launch ITCH.
2. Open the SP6 window.
-- You will notice a thin blue line around the outside of the window.
-- This is indicating the SP6 sampler is in TOGGLE MODE.
3. On the far RIGHT side you will see a button that looks similar to a midi controller.
-- Click this button.

Toggle Mode will now be disabled. You will now be able to delete CUE points while holding down the DELETE button while you press the CUE buttons.

How old is this NS7, or is it a brand new unit?

Lets try increase your USB buffer size.

1. Launch ITCH
2. Click the SETUP button on the top task bar inside ITCH.
3. Navigate along to the HARDWARE tab.
4. Increase the USB buffer size to 20MS. Click APPLY.
5. Close the SETUP window.

Have a mix for 30/60 minutes. Do you have the same issues?

Let me know how you get on :)

Thanks.

I was able to deactivate TOGGLE MODE. All good there.

My NS7FX is a new unit.

I did increase the buffer size to 20MS. During my session- there was one time when the whole system stuttered for a second.

I didn't know that Serato DJ was an upgrade from Itch. Would the full version be a free upgrade or would I only get a free trial?

Nice work.

This sounds more positive :)
Increasing the buffer size is a good idea. It will take some pressure off your CPU which will lower the chance of glitches / stutters etc...

1. Do you use any external hard drives?
-- How big is the external drive?
-- How much free space is on it?

2. Do you use any other USB devices?

3. Is your NS7 unit plugged directly into your MAC usb port?

Since you own a NS7, Serato DJ is a free upgrade for you.
-- Download the full version here --> serato.com

You can have both ITCH and Serato DJ installed in the same computer.
-- I would advise this, so you have the best of both options.

Let me know how you get on :)

Thanks.

1. Yes, I do use an external hard drive. 1TB. 722 GB free space on it. (133 GB of free space on my comp)

2. I am not using any other USB device except for the FX bar.

3. I have not been directly into my MAC's USB port. I have a little deally that I plug in to increase the amount of USB ports I have. It takes me from having 2 ports to 5 ports. (NS7 controller, FX bars, 2 external hard drives, one free) I supposed I could at least plug the NS7 into the MAC.

Can you explain a little bit about the

Can you explain a little about "the best of both options" in regards to having both Serato DJ and ITCH? (Where is the "edit grid" button in DJ?)

External drives can cause issues for some users and it can be for a number of reasons.
-- How fast the drive spins.
-- How the drive is connected.
-- How the files are managed on the drive.
-- How big the drive is.

Try removing the external drive from the equation.
1. Copy 20 or so GBs of music to a folder on your desktop.
2. Remove the external drive from your computer.
3. Add the folder on your desktop to your Serato ITCH library.
4. Mix for a couple of hours.

Do you have any issues?

I recommend you ALWAYS have your NS7 connected directly to your MAC and I will explain why.

Each USB port on computer / Mac will have a slightly different USB power output rating.
-- This means each port can perform slightly different. So different devices will perform better depending on which USB port they are plugged into.
-- Using USB hubs can lower the USB power output rating.
-- This would result in your NS7 not receiving the correct midi messages, not sending the correct messages.
-- This could also result in a bad audio signal / distorted sound.

I would recommend the following,

1. Plug your NS7 directly into your MACS USB port.
2. Purchase a POWERED USB 2.0 hub.
-- This means the USB power to each other device will not be split.
3. Connect all other USB devices to this USB hub.

I have attached the Serato DJ NS7 Quick Start Guide for you to check out.

Here is a link to the Serato DJ Manual / Edit Grid Section --> serato.com

"The Best Of Both Options"
I mean you are lucky enough to own a NS7 so this means you can download Serato DJ for free. You can have both ITCH installed and also Serato DJ.

This allows you to mix with Serato DJ at home (while you get used to the new software and how your NS7 controls it).

ITCH and Serato DJ utilise the same library folder so any changes you make to your music files will show up in either library.

Thanks.
