Regarding the JOG WHEELS.
-- They are working correctly for both PC / MAC in SERATO DJ 1.2

1. Download and install the latest Pioneer DDJ-S1 drivers.
-- Download Here --> pioneerdj.com
2. Make sure your DDJ-S1 is connected directly to your computer.
3. Try another USB cable.
4. Try another USB port.

Regarding the EFFECTS LIGHTS.

1. Single effects mode. The FX light will blink to let you know the effect is activated.
2. In Multi effects mode. The FX light does not blink.
-- We are aware of this and hope to have it resolved in a future update.

***Serato DJ for Pioneer DDJ S1***

When loading another track, the cue button doesn't switch over to the track you are loading to preview (like it did with itch). I have to manually click the cue button AND unclick the other cue for the other platter. Anyone getting this?

Also,

my crossfader volumes are all over the place when trying to mix in the next track. I think that has to do with the settings BUT I never had to touch them before with ITCH.

Sorry, I will clarify.

When in 2 deck view mode in Serato DJ.
If you press the LAYER button for Deck 1 it will switch the active deck to Deck 3.
-- You wil see the number for the virtual deck on your screen change from 1 to 3.

So what I mean is,

1. Press the CUE button for the track you want to listen to in the headphones.
2. Then press the LAYER button to activate that deck. (if its not already activated).

Hello, i have ddj s1 and the pitch lights are the wrong way round, when the pitch control goes up the down light comes on.

Thats how the lights function on SDJ. They are letting you know which way the the middle position is. This can be very helpful in dark situations.

My pitch lights don't operate like that video either! This is like the 10th bug I've found with Serato DJ and the DDJ S1

This video has been made on a pre-release version of SDJ.
Pioneer and Serato together decided the pitch lights would indicate the middle position for the final release DDJ-S1 / SDJ version.

If you feel the pitch lights should be the opposite I recommend you start a "Feature Request" forum thread. If enough people support your idea it may be something we change in a future update.

Ive also found so many bugs in serato DJ with the DDJ S1
I have updated the firmware as well as the drivers. Effects wont work directly. Delay effect doesnt work like in itch. You need to set the knob to zero and back to max before it takes effect. + in single effects the effect button doesnt blink.

the jog wheel sensitivity... im not sure it can be adjusted...
In itch i used to push the wheel and the song would speed up just a bit. Now it need to barely touch the wheel to move the song a bit. This is also problematic when scratching in. I always used to get the songs matched but now i cant do that always because of the same problem. I need to adjust my scratching to the sensitivity. I tried to change the buffer rate but nothing changed... im not sure why it works with Itch.

why doesnt it have a tremolo ( or trans ) effect ?

Can you please post a picture of this layer button you speak of; i'm not having any luck finding it and there is no deck 3 on the DDJ-S1

My mistake, the instructions re the "layer" button relate to a NS6 controller.

If you use a DDJ-S1 you will need to press the CUE button. It will not switch on automatically when you load a track to a deck.

Its not a bug, its an ITCH / DDJ-S1 feature that was not included in Serato DJ.
-- I have logged this for the developers to look into as behaviour is different between ITCH and Serato DJ. This may be something we look at changing in a future release, but at this stage thats all the information I have.

I Also Am Having An issue With The Effect lights Not Blinking When engaged Also At My First Live Show With The S1 And SDJ My Effects Got Stuck And Wouldn't Turn Off Unless I Turned The Level/Depth To MInimum And For Some Reason If I Switch Effects Or When I First Start Up Sdj i have To Toggle The Level/Depth Knob For The effect preset to show up I Hope Another Update is Coming Soon

So you should have no issues downloading and installing ITCH 2.2.2

So for EVERY ONE that's having crash problems with pioneer ddj s1 and serato dj ..
HERE IS WHAT I DID TO FIX IT..
NO NEED TO TAKE ANYTHING OUT FROM YOUR LIBRARY MY SETUP IS WORKING WITH ENTIRE LIBRARY.
1 .UNINSTALL SERATO DJ
2.UNINSTALL PIONEER FIRMWARE UPDATE .
3.RE-INSTALL THE PIONEER FIRMWARE.
4.REINSTALL SERATO DJ (DO NOT RUN THE SOFTWARE YET)
5.GO TO START -DEVICES AND PRINTERS ON WINDOWS ,THERE FIND PIONEER DDJ S1
AND UNINSTALL PIONEER DRIVERS..
6.OPEN YOUR SOFTWARE SERATO DJ... AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE/..

I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT EVERY FEATURE IN SERATO DJ IS WORKING JUST FINE WITH THIS FIX..I HAVE USED ALL SIX (6) BANKS OF EFFECTS WITH NO PROBLEM .

IF THIS HELPS YOU PLEASE POST YOUR RESULTS SO OTHERS CAN ENJOY THE GREAT SOFTWARE FROM SERATO

Just note: The "fix" may have worked for your specific computer which is great!
-- But the DDJ-S1 firmware update and Serato library size crashes are two separate issues.

1. The DDJ-S1 firmware can be updated without the need to open any Serato software.
-- Library size does not matter.

2. Large Library crash issues relate to your specific computers limitations and how you organise your music.
-- This is not controller specific.

Ok So I Got Fed Up Took The DDJ S1 Back And Bought A DDJ SX!

In mine ddj s1 the FX lights are the opposite of what's 'Jamie W' said!

In single mode the FX light don't blinks, but when i'm in multi fx mode the button blinks, How can i fix It Jamie W?? My firmware is up to date and i'm running Serato 1.2.1

I want the FX light working like you said below:
"1. Single effects mode. The FX light will blink to let you know the effect is activated.
2. In Multi effects mode. The FX light does not blink."

I think this is my mistake.
I have gone back at tested the following.

Serato DJ 1.2
1. Single Effects - ON/OFF light do NOT blink when effects activated.
2. Multi Effects - ON/OFF light blinks when effect is activated.

Serato DJ 1.2.1
1. Single Effects - ON/OFF lights do NOT blink when effects activated.
2. Multi Effects - ON/OFF light blinks when effect is activated.

Sorry for confusing things guys! Hopefully that clears it up for you all.

hi serato, iv got a situation, serato dj wont detect my ddj s1 and on top of that, whenever i try to update the firmware, i get a message saying an error occurred, it was not possible to update the programme, do you know what the problem might be??, thanks.

Ok here is the issue i am having with my PIONEER DDJ S1..... The right side pitch bend stopped working & the tempo wont change speed, it stays on regular speed regardless of where i move the pitch control.... I have tried everything & I am up to date with the firmware...
