Do I have to pay for Serato DJ?

Serato DJ will be a free upgrade for eligible ITCH controllers and supported DJ controllers such as the Pioneer DDJ-SX.

How do I activate Serato DJ?

I own an ITCH controller, do I need to purchase Serato DJ for my Serato DJ Intro controller?

Yes. When your ITCH controller is supported for Serato DJ, it will activate the software for free.

To activate Serato DJ with your supported Serato DJ Intro controller, you will need to purchase a Serato DJ license.

I own two Serato DJ Intro controllers, do I have to buy two Serato DJ licenses?

No, when you purchase one Serato DJ license, you will be able to activate Serato DJ for that computer.

This means that you will be able to connect any of the supported Serato DJ controllers to your computer and the software will remain activated.

Can I authorize Serato DJ on a second computer, or must I obtain a second license?

The license agreement for Serato DJ states that it can only be used on one computer at a time. If you want to use Serato DJ on a secondary (backup) system as well, but not simultaneously, a second installation is included in your license provided you are not running the software at the same time as your main system.

Activating and running Serato DJ on more than one machine simultaneously is a violation of the license agreement and will result in the permanent de-activation of your license.

Where is the Serato DJ license number on my products page?

If you have purchased Serato DJ, it will only appear as a listed product on your products page, but you do not require a license number to activate Serato DJ.

Instead, you can download the software, click the ACTIVATE/BUY button in the license panel, then using the email and password you used to purchase the license, you can activate the software.

Can I use my Rane hardware with Serato DJ?

Serato DJ only supports Serato DJ controllers.

Your Rane hardware will continue to work with Scratch Live which is in continued development, and Scratch Live updates will continue to be released.

The release of Serato DJ doesn't affect the current release plan for Scratch Live. Serato DJ is bringing the experience of our controller software closer to that of Scratch Live.

Can I use Serato DJ without a controller?

No, Serato DJ requires a supported controller to enable the virtual decks, in order to allow you to mix 2 or more tracks at once.

Without a supported Serato DJ controller, an offline player is available, for preparing tracks only.

How long until I can upgrade to Serato DJ for my controller?

Does it work with Serato Video?

Yes, Serato DJ will support Serato Video on release.

Will all future Intro controllers be able to upgrade to Serato DJ?

Future controllers that ship with Serato DJ Intro will be able to be upgraded to Serato DJ.

Is this software going to be fully compatible with my existing DJ Intro, Itch, Scratch Live or iTunes library?

Your current Serato DJ Intro, ITCH, Scratch Live or iTunes library will be fully compatible with Serato DJ.

Will I have to re-analyze my files?

No, if they have been previously analyzed in ITCH or Scratch Live they will be fine. For Serato DJ Intro customers we recommend re-analyzing in order to set Beatgrids and take advantage of Smart Sync.

What does this mean for Scratch Live?

The release of Serato DJ doesn't affect the current release plan for Scratch Live. Serato DJ is bringing the experience of our controller software closer to that of Scratch Live.

Will work still be done on ITCH ?

ITCH 2.2.2 is the last planned release of ITCH. Future features and any bug fixes for ITCH users will go into Serato DJ rather than ITCH. Serato DJ will be a free upgrade for ITCH customers.

Can I still use ITCH?

You can continue to use and we will continue to support the latest version of ITCH for your controller. Serato DJ controllers such as the DDJ-SX will not be backwards compatible. Serato DJ is a free upgrade for Serato ITCH customers.

Will The Bridge be available for Serato DJ?

The Bridge is currently not available in Serato DJ.
